Ready for a look inside Crazytown?
NRA lobbyists are pushing a bill in Congress that would allow dangerous people with concealed carry permits from states with the weakest possible standards to carry concealed, loaded weapons in all 50 states.
To put this in perspective, Florida has more than a million active concealed carry permits, and they let convicted stalkers -- including those from other states -- get these permits online. Are those the people you want carrying hidden, loaded guns in your community?
This plan is a race to the bottom, and we can't let the NRA take Crazytown nationwide.
The gun lobby has spent years pressuring state lawmakers into weakening and eliminating even the most straightforward requirements to be able to carry concealed guns in public -- including basic firearms training. Now, they want to make the weakest state permitting standards the law of the land.
This NRA plan also makes the jobs of law enforcement much harder since, unlike with driver's licenses, there's often no way for a police officer to check whether an out-of-state concealed carry permit is valid.
Automatically add your name to the petition to Congress. Don't let the weakest link determine national standards. Say NO to the NRA's federal concealed carry bill:
