Change.org

You don't usually hear from us, but we're sending you this email because we're making some updates to our policies.

In the past few years, Change.org has grown from about one million users into the world's largest petition platform, with more than 80 million users worldwide. Every week, over 100 petitions on Change.org become victories that impact people and communities around the world.

We're excited about this growth and impact, and want to make sure our policies enable the people who use our platform to create even more change in the future. To that end, we're making some key updates to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy that we'd like to share with you. The new policies will take effect on January 12, 2015.

We want to make sure you know what's staying the same, and what we're updating, so here are a few highlights:

  • You're free to express yourself - Change.org is still a free and open platform. You can use Change.org regardless of who you are or what you believe.
  • You're in control - We still don't pass your email address on to third parties without your permission.
  • You get more relevant content - We explain how we use cookies and information to show you campaigns that are most likely to matter to you.
  • We've made it easier to resolve issues - We removed our arbitration clause, and also provide a means to try to resolve disputes directly.
  • You own your content - We've clarified that you retain full ownership of the content that you own and upload.

If you'd like to learn more, you can read a summary of the updates here, and you can read the full Terms of Service here and Privacy Policy here.

If you have any questions about these updates, feel free to contact us -- we're happy to help.

We hope to see you experiencing victories on Change.org soon.

Thanks,

The Change.org Team
