EDITOR'S NOTE

GOOD AFTERNOON TO EVERYONE!

In today's Daily Events, we report on Senator Ted Cruz's efforts to rally the GOP to unite to defund Obamacare. Charles Krauthammer, on the other hand, argues that Republicans can't govern from one house of Congress and must win back the Senate and the presidency. "Shutting down the government," he writes, "is the worst possible way to get there."

Elsewhere, David Limbaugh believes that GOP opposition is fractured and ineffective. Pat Buchanan takes a look at one of these internal battles and asks: Is this the last hurrah of the interventionist? And I wonder if Pope Francis has anything to teach conservatives about winning political rhetoric.

Check back with Human Events all day long for breaking news, updates and commentary.
